In my opinion, this is our finest Pinot to date. A lovely vintage with a calm balanced growing season, slightly cooler than average has allowed the delicate side of Pinot Noir to sing. Tannins are fine-boned, acids are clean and fresh, modest whole bunch brings a forest spice and a mineral side into frame. Bottled unfined and unfilitered with a light sulphite addition.
Gorgeous clean aromatics of the forest margin, wild dark cherry, resinous spruce, juniper and cedar is clearly in focus. The aromatic spice notes are nicely restrained and show the restraint this finely chiselled wine requests. With time expect the forest floor to come into view along with more sauvage aromas of aged meat and fungi and game.
